Dr. Marcia Magnus is very well qualified in her field of nutrition. She received her B.S. in biology and postgraduate degree in education at the University of the West Indies, (UWI) in Mona, Jamaica, W.I. She earned her Master of Science in Community Health Education at Southern Illinois University and her Ph.D. in Nutrition at Cornell University.
She is an associate professor of Nutrition, Department of Dietetic Nutrition at Florida International University in Miami, as well as assistant professor of Nutrition at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Magnus is also Nutrition Consultant to UNICEF (Caribbean area office), as well as Nutrition Education Consultant to the New York State Healthy Heart Program.
Dr. Magnus has published in the field of nutrition as it relates to prevention of systemic disease, (Quarterly of the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute, Journal of Nutrition Education, Journal of Nutrition for the Elderly, Canada Dietetic Association). She serves as editor for our home study educational courses on nutrition.
