Dental Hygienist
Mary M. Kerger became a Certified Dental Assistant at Virginia Western Community College and received her Certificate in Dental Hygiene at Eastern Tennessee State University. In addition to having many years of clinical experience, Ms. Kerger has been involved in her profession both in general dentistry and periodontal offices for the past 19 years. She is currently employed as a hygienist in the office of Dr. Thomas Holbrook.
Ms. Kerger has lectured nationally and internationally on the "Holbrook Concept" of ultrasonic instrumentation in periodontal debridement. She has broad clinical and teaching experience in the clinical application of ultrasonic equipment and has produced, edited, and presented many lectures in the field of ultrasonics in dentistry. Dr. Holbrook and Ms. Kerger were teaching others how to apply ultrasonics in periodontal therapy long before the literature began acknowledging its value.
